Pool Fill Time Calculator

This calculator will help you determine roughly how much time it will take, and how much it will cost to fill up your swimming pool.

*Note that for variable depth pools the total volume is determined by estimating an average depth which assumes an equal length shallow end and deep end with a constant 45 degree slope between them.

**If filling with a garden hose, most home spigots flow between 9 and 17 gallons per minute. There is quite a bit of variability here however depending on water pressure, hose length, and hose diameter. A simple method of measuring your particular water flow involves a 5-gallon bucket and a watch. Place the hose in the bucket, turn on the hose and start your watch. Measure how long it takes for the bucket to fill to the top. Then take 5 and divide by the number of minutes it took to fill the bucket to determine your average flow rate in gallons per minute.
